Believing as a Family
The Early Church described the family as the “domestic church.” This meant that it was not just a sociological unit. Rather, the family was created to play a specific role in God’s plan of salvation. Blessed John Paul II taught that we live in a day and age where there the Biblical vision of marriage and family is under severe and sustained attack (Familiaris Consortio). In the business and hassle of everyday life, surrounded by the temptations of the modern world, we know how difficult it is to persevere as strong, devout, and faithful Catholic families. It is becoming increasingly difficult to play our intended role as a family.
At St. Rose of Lima Catholic Academy we believe it is crucial to help our families cultivate their faith life. We believe that when cultivating faith within the family, it is important not to let our prayer and worship become stagnant. We are committed to working together as a family of believers, to share in God's love and guidance through his bride the Church. Please use this website to help your family grow in your relationship with Christ and be a living sign of faith to the world.
O God our Father,
in Jesus you call all Christian families and homes
to be signs of living faith.
By the light of the Holy Spirit,
lead us to be thankful for the gift of faith,
and by that gift
may we grow in our relationship with Jesus, your Son,
and be confident witnesses to Christian hope and joy
to all we meet.
In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
